According to ABC, police in Stockholm, Sweden are investigating a case of illegal imprisonment. A 70 year old mother is suspected of imprisoning her son for 28 years, the report said.
According to the report, prosecutor Emma Olson revealed that the victim, 41 years old, was rescued after being found by relatives. Olson said the victim had been sent to hospital for treatment and her mother still denied the crime.
ABC quoted Sweden’s Express newspaper as saying the relative was the victim found on Sunday and that the two were brothers and sisters. At that time, his mother was in the hospital. When the witness arrived at his mother’s house, he saw that the door was not locked, so he pushed the door in. Witnesses told the media that the house was full of “urine and dirt” and smelled “rotten”.
After that, witnesses found the man in the kitchen. It is said that the man has no teeth, a sore on his leg, and his speech is not clear.
In an interview published by the Swedish express, witnesses said that since the seventh grade, the younger brother was gradually isolated from the society by his mother and had left school for 28 years. She and her brother have not been in touch for more than 20 years.
Prosecutors Olson said the follow-up investigation will ask questions about mothers, sons and witnesses. The mother has been arrested on suspicion of unlawful deprivation of liberty and serious personal injury.
