78 newly diagnosed cases in 31 provinces


Beijing, March 24 (Xinhua) – from 0 to 24 o’clock on March 23, 31 provinces (autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the central government) and Xinjiang production and Construction Corps reported 78 new confirmed cases, 7 new deaths (Hubei 7 cases), and 35 new suspected cases, according to the website of the national health and Health Commission.
On the same day, 456 cases were cured, 769 close contacts were released from medical observation, and 176 severe cases were reduced.
As of 24:00 on March 23, according to the reports of 31 provinces (autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the central government) and Xinjiang production and Construction Corps, there are 4735 confirmed cases (including 1573 severe cases), 73159 cured and discharged cases, 3277 dead cases, 81171 confirmed cases and 132 suspected cases. There were 691185 close contacts and 12077 close contacts still under medical observation.
There are 1 newly confirmed case (1 case in Wuhan), 444 newly cured and discharged cases (426 cases in Wuhan), 7 newly dead cases (7 cases in Wuhan), 4318 currently confirmed cases (4268 cases in Wuhan), including 1539 severe cases (1527 cases in Wuhan). A total of 60323 cases (43214 in Wuhan) were cured, 3160 cases (2524 in Wuhan) were dead, and 67801 cases (50006 in Wuhan) were confirmed. There are 0 new suspected cases (0 in Wuhan) and 0 existing suspected cases (0 in Wuhan).
From 0:00 to 24:00 on March 23, 74 cases (31 cases in Beijing, 14 in Guangdong, 9 in Shanghai, 5 in Fujian, 4 in Tianjin, 3 in Jiangsu, 2 in Zhejiang, 2 in Sichuan, 1 in Shanxi, Liaoning, Shandong and Chongqing) were newly reported. As of 24:00 on March 23, 427 confirmed cases imported from abroad have been reported.
In total, 576 confirmed cases were reported in Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan: 356 cases in Hong Kong SAR (101 discharged, 4 dead), 25 cases in Macao SAR (10 discharged), 195 cases in Taiwan (29 discharged, 2 dead).
